Seasons, sites, rules, budget: the short guide to a country that flies while Europe is grounded.
What sets Morocco apart fits in one sentence: the season never really closes. While Alpine sites sit under snow and Europe’s Atlantic coast takes one low after another, it is 20 degrees and bright at the foot of the Atlas. That is what draws pilots from France, Spain and Germany every winter — and what lets a passing visitor fly on a Tuesday in January.
For a visitor who has never flown, gear and licence are not an issue: in tandem, the pilot provides everything and carries the responsibility. An independent pilot, however, needs a valid licence and insurance, and some sites require local clearance.

October to May for mild, steady air. In July and August you fly early or not at all: afternoons are too active.
Ask for the pilot’s licence, the wing’s year and the insurance. A serious operator answers without hesitating — and has you sign a waiver.
In tandem, nothing to bring and nothing to know. Solo, plan for licence, insurance, and check local clearances for the site you target.
Reckon on 600 to 1,200 MAD for a discovery flight depending on duration and region. With us it is 600 MAD, and flight footage stays optional.
Our home site. Steady lake breeze, wide landing field, an hour from the city. The best choice for a first flight with a pilot.
Cliffs facing the Atlantic, south of Agadir. Ridge soaring in sea breeze, very reliable in winter: the meeting point for visiting European pilots.
Dunes and low cliffs, gentle and predictable conditions. Often combined with Mirleft on the same flying trip.
The playground of experienced pilots: strong spring thermals, committing terrain, cross-country flights. Not a place to discover the sport.

One price, no surprises when you arrive: the gear, the pilot, the briefing and the ride up to launch. All you bring is closed shoes and a little nerve.
Courses exist, but full training takes several weeks and is more often done in your home country. Tandem remains the way in for a short stay.
Our tandem flights are covered by professional liability insurance. Do check on your side that your travel policy does not exclude air sports — many do.
The sky is steadier, visibility often better, and prices markedly lower. In exchange, mountain rescue coverage is thinner: hence the importance of flying with an operator who knows the site.
Everything people ask us before booking, answered once and for all. Site, drive, timing, price.
Who is behind you, what connects you to him, and why a two-place wing is not flown like a solo one.
Nobody really tells you what happens between being clipped in and putting your feet back on the ground. Here it is.
